About Whitewood Norfolk Island
Creating havens for over a decade
Whitewood Norfolk Island, owned and operated by Rebecca Christian a Norfolk Islander (7th Generation from Fletcher Christian). My dream has always been to own land on Norfolk Island since I was a little girl living and growing up on the island. The more involved I became working in the Norfolk Island tourism industry it seemed natural to combine this dream with providing visitor accommodation.
Your home away from home
Since starting this project in 2013 my goal has always been for Whitewood to exceed expectations and to be a place to entertain with close friends – a home away from home which immediately sets the tone for rest, relaxation and rejuvenation. Whitewood Sea has hosted visitors for over 10 years.
After a career and family refocus in 2022, I began managing the renovation of a second house on the property Whitewood Haven. It’s been a rewarding but also poignant time working with experienced local trades to create another haven for visitors. Special acknowledgement must go to Rhys Schmitz & family and the Timber on the Move team who finished the renovation started by Rhys in June 2023. Rhys would be so proud of the result.
Whitewood Haven opened for business at the end of February 2024 and has received such positive feedback from visitors already.

The view is magnetic and you have attended to every detail to make our NI holiday a truly memorable experience. Whitewood Sea cottage and its location is a piece of heaven on earth – it’s calm peaceful and quiet setting is perfection – reading and listening to birdsong and happy little chookies is a delight to behold! Plenty to do also, we shall never forget our Norfolk Island beautiful holiday.

Our service
Were committed to providing personalised and authentic service. Guests are met at the airport, signed up for the included hire car and escorted to Whitewood. We generously give as much time as guests need to show them through the house, map and orientation review and share helpful information and tips for your Norfolk Island holiday. A smartphone and local sim with unlimited calls and texts along with unlimited free wifi is provided. Guests are encouraged to contact us for any house or island queries during their stay.
Amenities focus
Both houses have been designed with visitors in mind, much thought and care to give the best facilities and comfort we can provide including top notch indoor and outdoor settings. Both houses are step-free catering to broader accessibility needs. Whitewood Haven has an accessible bathroom and a fully equipped desk/workstation (monitor, laptop stand, docking station, keyboard, mouse) so guests can simply plug in their laptop to work remotely.
Local touch
Owned and operated by a Norfolk Islander of Pitcairn descent, who loves to share their knowledge and passion for the island. We have much respect for the island’s people and the environment and we strive to emulate this through all that we do. We are Sustainabily Minded with solar power, rain water tanks, water filtration system and eliminating single plastics with refillable soap and shower products.
